Proportion Wheel allows the user to properly scale photos for publication. It doesn't matter whether you use picas, inches or even mixed measures -- this version will even convert picas to inches (or vice-versa).
To use Proportion Wheel, press the New Photo button. It will ask you the original width, new width, original length and new length of the photo you are measuring. It is important that you fill in only three of the four required numbers.
In addition, it will ask whether you wish to use picas or inches. It is customary to measure width in picas and length in inches, but you are not held to those traditions in Proportion Wheel 2.1.
To determine the percentage and either new length or width of photo, press the Go Figure button. If you filled in all four blanks, Go Figure will put a new number in the New Width box.
To change a single number in the Width or Length boxes (you can change one without affecting the other numbers), simply click on the one you want to change, enter the new number and press Go Figure. Remember that before you press the Go Figure button, one of the four Width and Length boxes must be empty.
To change the parameters from picas to inches or from inches to picas, click on the word "Width" or "Length." This will toggle the measurement back and forth.
To convert fractions to their decimal equivalent, or vice-versa, click on Converter and enter either the fraction or the decimal. You can convert fractions as small as 1/64th of an inch. To get rid of the Converter box, simply click on it.
